John Beulow will now serve as the president of Mercury Marine
Brunswick Corporation, the conglomerate overseeing many of the industry’s leading brands, has named John Buelow as executive vice president and president of Mercury Marine.
Buelow was previously the vice president of global operations with Mercury, and will now report to Brunswick CEO David M. Foulkes.
He will be the successor to longtime president Chris Drees, who has left the company to pursue an opportunity outside of the marine industry.
“John is an established leader with close to 20 years of experience at Brunswick in many global leadership roles,” said Brunswick CEO Foulkes said in a company statement.
“John’s promotion is indicative of the talent and experience we have in our management ranks across the entire company and our continued focus on succession planning.”
Buelow joined Mercury Marine in 2004 and has previously served as the vice president and CFO of Brunswick Marine in EMEA and the Asia-Pacific region.
He also held leadership roles at Mercury headquarters in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin from 2010 to 2013.
Future plans for Buelow and Mercury include further upgrades and modernizations to the company’s manufacturing facilities and capabilities.
Mercury has been making significant investments through its Advanced Systems Group (ASG).
The ASG group has been the driving force behind Mercury’s electrification plans for 2023, as well as major product unveilings like the 600 hp V12 Verado outboard, the new Avator electric outboard series, and the recent launch of the V10 350 hp and 400 hp Verado outboards.
