Domestic leads to collision and arrest in Dresden

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a domestic disturbance in Dresden.

Through investigation, police learned that a verbal argument between the couple resulted in the woman smashing items in the home.

As the man left the residence, the woman followed him and rear-ended his truck with her van.

The woman continued to follow the man and hit his truck several times, causing her air bags to deploy.

As the woman was placed under arrest, she failed to comply with the officers and resisted.

The 47-year-old Dresden woman was taken into custody and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and resist arrest.

She was released pending a future court date of October 20, 2021.

Man charged with impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to the report of a possible impaired driver on Richmond Street in Chatham.

An officer on general patrol located the vehicle and a traffic stop was initiated.

Through investigation, the officer believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested.

The man was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

A 50-year-old Chatham man has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit and driving while under suspension.

He was released pending a future court date of October 15, 2021.

Theft of boat motor in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, unknown suspects stole a black Mercury 8hp outboard motor from a 2002 Crown Line bow rider, that was parked at a residence on Albert Street.

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $4,000.
